At Bottled Sunshine Books, our story begins with a shared love for adventure, storytelling, and the vibrant culture of our beautiful island home, Barbados.
We are a husband-and-wife duo, inspired daily by our two spirited young sons, who see the world with wonder and curiosity. It is through their eyes that we’ve been reminded of the magic in everyday island life—the sway of coconut palms, the sound of tuk band music in the streets, the taste of a warm fish cutter on the beach.
Our journey of sharing Barbados began in 2017 with our travel blog, bottled-sunshine.com, where we documented our explorations and created thoughtful guides for travelers seeking to experience the island beyond the postcards. From hidden beach coves to bustling market days, we poured our love for Barbados into every post.
From Parenthood to Pages
Sharing Barbados
with the World
In 2022, we welcomed our first son, followed closely by our second in 2023. Parenthood deepened our commitment to preserving and sharing our heritage. Watching our boys experience the island for the first time—their small hands digging into golden sand, their eyes widening at the sight of flying fish leaping from the waves—reminded us how precious our cultural story is.
From this love and pride, our first book, ABC Barbados: Island Life for Little Learners, was born. It’s more than an alphabet book—it’s a keepsake of home, a tool for teaching, and a celebration of the beauty, history, and everyday wonders that make Barbados unique.
We believe that children everywhere, whether living on the island or across the globe, deserve to see the Caribbean reflected in their stories. Through our books, we hope to bottle a little sunshine from Barbados and share it with families near and far—passing on a legacy of pride, belonging, and cultural joy.
